You sang it better': Mel B praises Robert Pattinson's sister Lizzy over Raign... but Simon Cowell gives them both a seat during Factor chair auditions

Wicked Games by Chris Isaak is a classic song, so it's no surprise to see two X Factor hopefuls sing it during the Over 25s chair auditions.
But while controversial Raign's version of the song split the judges' opinions, Lizzy Pattinson secured universal praise.
'You sang it better than Raign,' Mel B told Robert Pattinson's 31-year old sister before Simon Cowell gave her one of the six seats.

Read between the lines in Mel B's striped dress

There may have been some controversial decisions on last night's episode of The X Factor, but Mel B's outfit was something we can all agree on. We're really hoping Mel will manage to sneak plenty of her signature leopard print looks into the X Factor live shows, but stripes are a close second!
She showed off her shoulders in this black and white bodycon Bardot dress, which is by Nicholas. It's got a very Riviera chic feel about it, but it's actually got a zip split on the skirt to give it a bit of an edge. And you can forget fashion folklore that horizontal stripes are not your friend - as Mel proves they can be super flattering.
We've recently spotted her wearing labels like Valentino and Jason Wu, but luckily for us, this time her look is a little more affordable. Buy into this Australian brand by clicking the link (right) to Revolve now.
But if you'd rather stay closer to home, allow us to recommend River Island's very similar version, or Jane Norman's cosy knitted option. Then wear yours with ankle boots and a biker jacket to take it into next season.

Raign had auditioned earlier in the show, having already rubbed certain judges up the wrong way during her previous performances.
The audience seemed impressed with her power ballad rendition of Wicked Games, but Mel said she 'found it all a bit strange.'
The singer-songwriter hit back saying she's 'here to represent the misfits', and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini certainly didn't shock when she said 'it doesn't do anything for me.'

Of course Louis Walsh was a fan of the controversial singer and Simon seemed impressed too.
'You are Marmite, but when your voice is on the money you have a great singing voice,'the music mogul said.
Raign couldn't resist a dig at Mel and Cheryl by saying she 'couldn't wait to be mentored by people [she] respected.'
Dramatic: Raign had a lot to prove on Saturday night having annoyed Cheryl Fernandez-Versini in the arena AND room auditions

'I'm literally allergic to her,' Cheryl said, as Mel reiterated her dislike for Raign while the hopeful took her seat.
Kisela Bernice was the first to get a seat in Simon's Over 25 category, but sadly for Scarlett Quinn, nerves got the better of her.
Scarlett ditched her singing partner (and husband) for a chance to make the big time as a solo act.

But because of her nerves meant she forgot the lyrics to her cover of Duran Duran's Ordinary World.
'That was so hard to watch, why did you forget the words?' Louis asked.
'So frustrating to watch someone who you know has potential but lets themselves down over again,' Cheryl asked.

Begging Scarlett had the audience behind her, but Simon sent her home anyway.
Ben Haenow sang Eagles classic Hotel California after being told to concentrate by Simon.
'I just love the gravel and raspiness of your voice, I could listen to it all day long,' Mel enthused.
'That's what I'm talking about. You've just got it for me,' Cheryl said.
'This is what this competition is all about,' Simon said before giving him a chair.

Likeable Stevi Ritchie performed (I've Had) The Time of My Life by Bill Medley, with some strong dance moves that wouldn't have given Swayze a run for his money.
But then he had the audience on their feet when he brought an unsuspecting lady onto the stage and did some of the classic Dirty Dancing routine.
'Wembley Arena, everybody is on their feet because of you,' Louis laughed.
'My head is saying not in a million years, my heart is saying give him another shot,' Simon laughed.
'Stevi go take a seat... I've literally gone nuts.'

Janet Grogan, 26, from Dublin sang Crazy In Love by Beyoncé and and had all the judges' support.
'You nailed it,' Louis said, while Mel said she 'loved' her voice.
'I think you're fantastic,' Cheryl enthused as Simon told her to take a seat.

Jay James arrived on stage to perform knowing that every seat had been filled already.
He sang Snow Patrol's Run, famously released by former X Factor winner Leona Lewis.
'You sing with such passion, you deserve a seat,' Mel said

'At first I wasn't sure, but towards the end you could literally feel the room change,' Cheryl told the singer.
'I always thought you had the potential to be special,' Simon said.
But viewers will have to wait until Sunday night's show to see who Jay will replace out of the six hopefuls already with a seat.
The X Factor returns on Sunday night at 8pm, ITV1, with the rest of the Over 25 auditions and the Groups.
