Police are
on alert for revenge attacks from Manchester United fans on Roma’s
notorious ‘ultras’ ahead of the Italian club’s Champions League tie at
the Etihad on Tuesday night.
Hundreds
of officers are on duty to prevent trouble between Manchester City and
Roma’s hardcore supporters, who have a history of violence and disorder
around Europe.
But
they are also aware that United’s troublemakers could use the occasion
to seek reprisals for the violence that marred their infamous Champions
League quarter-final against Roma in 2007.

Graziano Pelle scored a stunner for Southampton against QPR on Saturday - and celebrated it with a beauty.
The
Italian forward has now hit four goals in his six games for the south
coast side - helping them to second in the Premier League table.
Pelle's girlfriend posted a photo of the two of them relaxing by the pool after the he scored the winner at St Mary's.

Pelle scored an acrobatic effort against QPR at St Mary's - his fourth goal in six games for the club
The
29-year-old scored 50 goals in 57 matches over the last two seasons at
Feyenoord and if his early-season form is anything to go by Saints fans
could enjoy quite a season.
Many
expected Ronald Koeman's side to struggle after the departure of so
many stars but they currently sit just three points behind Chelsea in
second place.
Next up for Southampton is trip to White Hart Lane where they will face old boss Mauricio Pochettino and his Tottenham side.

Scottish 26-year-old took off her clothes in front of thousands of
Australian rules football fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on
Saturday - with the subsequent pictures causing a storm on social media.
After
receiving complaints, police arrived to arrest her - but she lashed
out, kicking, punching and biting the officers as they tried to handcuff
her.
Her team, Hawthorn, won back-to-back flags for the first time since 1988/89, with a 63-point win over Sydney.

Former AC
Milan and Real Madrid midfielder Kaka has been revealed as the highest
earning MLS player, despite never having played for his club.
The
32-year-old Brazilian, who signed for Orlando City in June and was
immediately loaned to Sao Paulo, earns just over £4.4million a year,
which works out at £84,000 per week.
LA
Galaxy forward Robbie Keane (£2.76m), meanwhile, earns more than
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry (£2.67m) does at the New York Red Bulls.

But
more staggering than wages of the high earners is the discrepancy
between those players and their less talented, and less fortunate,
team-mates.
Many players in the league earn as little as £22,000 a year, or £420 a week, which is less than the average salary in the UK.
To
put that into perspective, it would take Manuel Aparicio three and a
half years to earn what his Toronto team-mate Michael Bradley does in a
week.
Moreover,
when Clint Dempsey joined Seattle Sounders from Tottenham last summer,
his salary was more than the entire payroll for 15 of the 19 MLS teams.
A number of other former Premier League players are also earning high salaries in the US.
The
evergreen Obafemi Martins picks up an annual salary more than £1m while
Liam Ridgewell earns around £750,000 a year. Bradley Wright-Phillips,
who has scored 25 goals in 35 games for New York Red Bulls, earns
£230,000 annually.

David
Villa, who joined the recently formed New York City FC from Barcelona
during the summer, is listed as earning just £60,000 a year.
The
figure is misleading, though, as the majority of his salary is
currently being paid by A-League side Melbourne City, where he is
currently on loan.
Similarly,
Frank Lampard is not included on the list because he is not due to
return from his loan at Manchester City until 2015.
Regardless of some of the smaller numbers on show, the growth of the league is clear to see.
In
2013 there were just seven players earning more than a million dollars
annually. In 2014 that number has more than doubled, and that doesn't
even include the full salaries of Frank Lampard and David Villa who are
likely to take the total number of million-dollar players to 17.

Aston Villa
manager Paul Lambert refused to shake Jose Mourinho's hand on Saturday
because the Chelsea boss left before the full time whistle.
Chelsea
were leading 3-0 when Mourinho decided to beat the traffic and walk
down the Stamford Bridge tunnel, but the 'Special One' halted to say his
goodbyes to Lambert and assistant manager Roy Keane first.
Instead,
Lambert snubbed the 51-year-old's prematurely out-stretched hand and
pointed to his watch to tell the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan
manager that time wasn't quite up yet.

It
was more of an acknowledgement than Keane offered, though, as the stern
former Manchester United midfielder simply ignored him.
Mourinho
previously admitted after being criticised for leaving early during
Chelsea's 6-0 win against Arsenal in March that he was born of a desire
to phone his wife with the result.
He
won't be too preoccupied by his latest snub, however, as he turns his
attention to the Champions League for Chelsea's clash against Sporting
Lisbon.
The
Chelsea manager held a training session at Cobham on Monday before
jetting to Portugal with his Premier League table-topping squad for the
Group G match.

footballers Jamie Redknapp, Gary Lineker and Ian Wright practiced their
golf swings at an event held at Heathrow Airport in order to promote the
Kate and Justin Rose Foundation.

golfer Rose, who was part of the European team which defeated America
at Gleneagles this weekend, has teamed up with British Airways to raise
money for his Foundation.
Rose
and his wife Kate set up the Foundation in order to 'inspire children
from he inside out: nutrition, education, and experiences.'

duo have helped children in Orlando fight hunger, provided books to
less fortunate kids and host two events a year to give children new life
experiences.

of the Day presenter Lineker also attempted the shot from the wing of
the plane while both Wright and Redknapp also took part in a plethora of
challenges.
Fashion model and English television personality Jodie Kidd also made an appearance.
Rose
uploaded a selfie, taken by Redknapp, onto his Instagram with the
message 'Morning British Airways engineering bay with friends Jamie
Redknapp, Ian Wright, Jodie Kidd and Gary Lineker.'
Redknapp,
Wright, Kidd and Lineker also took to social media to reveal to their
followers that they were at the event for the Rose Foundation.
