She might not be the most obvious fashion fan.
But Whoopi Goldberg is obviously happy to try something new to make her granddaughter Jerzey Dean happy.
And
the teen certainly seemed delighted as she sat front row with her
grandmother at the Stella Nolasco fashion show during New York Fashion
Week on Thursday.
The
pair were there to watch the Spring offerings of Puerto Rico's most
avant garde designer, whose clothing line sells in upmarket department
store Neiman Marcus.

Designer day: Whoopi Goldberg took granddaughter
Jerzey to Stella Nolasco's fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion
Week Spring 2015 at The Pavilion at Lincoln Center in New York on
Thursday
Check it out: The 54-year-old obviously had fun pointing out things to her 19-year-old companion
Whoppi,
54, looked comfortable in a crisp white shirt, blue jeans and snazzy
yellow lace-up shoes with a pattern influenced by American
Indian-influenced designs in red and blue.
She slung a large designer handbag over her shoulder and carried a khaki jacket.
Jerzey was much more fashion-forward in a black romper suit with a mesh panel over the shoulders and short sleeves.
Getting serious: While the comedienne watched the show, the teenager held on to her smart phone...of course
Fancy frocks: Stella Nolasco is said to be Puerto Rico's most avant garde designer
Gorgeous gown: The audience seemed transfixed by
this piece, which will be on sale at branches of upscale department

My friend: Whoopi with Joan Rivers, who passed away on Thursday, at an event in New York in 2012
The
19-year-old, who puled her brown hair up into a pony tail, wore
dizzyingly high black strappy platform sandals and towered over her tiny
grandma.
She is the daughter of Whoopi's only child, Alexandria, 41, who is also an actress and producer.
The couple chatted happily and Whoopi pointed out things to Jerzey as they watched the show.
The
event gave Whoopi a morning's respite from problems at morning talk
show The View, where she is reportedly at loggerheads with returning
co-host Rosie O'Donnell.
RadarOnline
reports that the veteran hosts are scrapping over every detail of their
daily working life, including who will get the set’s best office.'They are fighting over everything, like offices, and even assistants,' a show insider told the website.
However, watching the Nolasco show might have been a painful reminder of the passing of her good friend, Fashion Police star and comedienne Joan Rivers, who died on Thursday at 81.
Whoopi took to Twitter to express her sadness, saying: 'My friend Joan Rivers has passed away once again to quote Billy Crystal... There are no words. Bon Voyage Join
