Keith Urban
canceled his performance at the Washington State Fair in the wake of
Nicole Kidman's father Antony's sudden death on September 12.
But
on Saturday, two weeks after the tragic passing of the respected
clinical psychologist, the 46-year-old country music star bravely
returned to the spotlight, taking to the stage at Tim Hortons Field in
Hamilton, Canada.
Performing
to a 20,000-strong crowd of music fans the Australian crooner, and
Nashville's adopted son, stormed the stage for more than two hours.

Ever
the professional the superstar singer put his personal tragedy to one
side to put on a polished show, strumming his way through 26 songs on
two different stages, engaging with the thronging crowd all the while.
Dressed
in his trademark waxed black jeans and ripped low-cut T-shirt the
shaggy-haired heartthrob showed off his array of inks as armed with his
guitar he cruised through his back-to-back hits.
Wife
Nicole didn't appear to be at the concert, but the New Zealand-born,
Australian-raised star looked happy to be back on stage as he

the time of his father-in-law's tragic death the international
acclaimed act apologised to his fans for canceling his ticketed American
performance, writing on Twitter: 'I'm so very sorry that I cannot
perform this weekend.
'We are in a deep state of grief at the passing of Nic's Father and are heading to Australia to be with family.'
He
continued: 'We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for
their love, prayers and support through this devastating loss. - KU.'

Tuesday the grieving couple released a joint statement via Facebook,
once again, acknowledging the support they received since the sudden
death of Nicole's father, who died of a suspected heart attack aged
75.
The Oscar winning actress, wrote: 'We would just like to thank everyone for their love and prayers over these past couple of weeks.
'We
are all heartbroken but knowing we are in the hearts and thoughts of
others is so comforting. Sending love, Nic and Keith xx'

Acknowledgment: The 47-year-old wrote a moving thank you to her fans on Facebook on Tuesday
Moved by her touching words, Nicole's legions of fans offered their condolences.

Nicole
and her family have been consumed by grief since the sudden death of
her beloved father, who died of a suspected heart attack in a Singapore
hotel restaurant, while visiting his youngest daughter Antonia and his
six grandchildren during their school holidays.
Now
back in the states with her husband Keith Urban, 46, and their two
daughters Sunday Rose, six and Faith Margaret, three, the screen star
rushed to be by her mother Janelle, and her sister Antonia's side as the
devastating news broke.
While
her devoted husband Keith cancelled his tour to be by his wife of eight
years side, as the close family unit flew back to Sydney to attend the
service held at St Francis Xavier Church on the North Shore.
Nicole
delivered a heartfelt tribute to her beloved father during the church
service, in which she recalled his first to see her three weeks prior to
his death.

Antonia, 44, also gave a moving speech at her father's funeral recalling
their similarities and her father's strength of character
Devastated by her loss she said: 'I'm so lucky to be his daughter, and that he chose my mother to make me with.
'The
only regret he'd have is that he's not here to see his beautiful
grandchildren grow up. And that he's not here to take care of Jay (his
wife Janelle and Nicole's mother).'
The
red-headed star said she wanted to tell him that the family, and those
gathered at the church, would take care of his widowed wife.
'It's okay Papa, we're here to take care of her,' she continued.
'I want to say to him, don't worry, we'll be able to take care of her... I love you Papa.'
After her emotion-filled speech Nicole and her musician husband then performed an acoustic version of Amazing Grace.
The Grace Of Monaco has since return to the States with her family.
