He revealed that the young singer and actress might have died of complications arising from chest-related pains.
According to him, Taiwo was admitted at the
Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, about a month
ago. The doctors examined her and she was given some medications.
The manager noted that there were no indications that this would become a fatal case.
“She felt better when she started taking the drugs. But surprisingly, she suffered a relapse.”
Olu Akinsanya further revealed that on October
1, 2014, Wednesday, she called her doctor, who treated her at LASUTH,
and was told to come over to his private hospital, as he would not be
around at LASUTH until Friday.
Taiwo returned to clinic, just like the doctor
advised. Some medical checks were completed and drugs were proscribed
to her again. The singer and her manager made an appointment for Friday.
However, unknown pains stroke the late singer in the early hours of the
day.
“This time, it was very severe. So, her
twin sister, Kehinde, decided to rush her to LASUTH. However, upon
reaching the hospital, she was confirmed dead. So, by 8.00am, Kehinde
called me and I had to rush to LASUTH to see her for myself.
“It is still very shocking to me. I saw
her on Wednesday and we talked and joked. We even talked about my
forthcoming wedding. She promised to play at my wedding, so she asked me
not to invite any other musician,” the manager recalled, adding that last thing she complained about was the chest pain
The autopsy report of the later singer is
awaited soon. It should clear the air on whether Taiwo fully recovered
from her illness and what was the pain nature of the pains which might
have resulted in her sudden death.
It would be added that the Oshadipe Twins lost their elder brother on the day of their album launch three years ago.
The singing duo are known for playing
contemporary, inspirational and gospel music. Their popularity and fame
came after the release of the song Dide Olorun Mi.
